The Best Shoes For Standing All Day - Why Custom Shoes Win

by Sean Scott January 14, 2021

What if I told you that investing in a quality pair of custom made shoes will likely eliminate the need of having to use gel inserts in the first place or stop you from ever having to suffer the pain that comes along with standing on your feet all day? Well, you better believe it, because it's true! When it comes to the best shoes for standing on your feet all day, custom shoes definitely win.

I’m sure we have all been there before - standing all day on our feet. Whether it be standing on your feet all day at work, enjoying a family vacation at the amusement park or attending your best friend's wedding, a long day on your feet can sometimes leave you feeling exhausted and tired at the end of the day with aches and pains that can destroy your feet. Part of the problem with sore, achy feet at the end of a long day is improper support from ill fitting shoes that are made from cheap materials which can quickly break down over time.

Even though there is a ton of appeal of going to your local department store and picking up a $40 pair of sneakers, one that came off a long production line pieced together and created from different manufacturing processes, these shoes are made for the masses while using cost effective materials that help to increase their profit margins. This is part of the reason why you see so many products on the shelves that are meant to make ordinary shoes more comfortable, such as gel inserts or removable insoles. Not only are shoes on the shelf hastily made without much care but the materials they use are also meant to be appealing to the masses while also increasing their profit margin. So, how do we solve this problem?

Well, though it may sound too good to be true, what if I told you that investing in a quality pair of custom made shoes will likely eliminate the need of having to use gel inserts in the first place or stop you from ever having to suffer the pain that comes along with standing on your feet all day? Well, you better believe it, because it's true! When it comes to the best shoes for standing on your feet all day, custom shoes definitely win and here are some of the reasons why.

Quality Materials

Without trying to sound too repetitive, the quality of the materials that make up the shoe go a long way in determining how comfortable and durable the end product is. When you buy a custom made pair of shoes you are almost guaranteed to be getting the best materials available, they are often eco-friendly too--as a large share of the shoe manufacturing industry also leaves a harmful trace in the environment. For instance, at COMUNITYmade, we use materials like premium Italian leather and the highest quality of suede.

Custom Made

It may seem like it should go without saying, but custom made shoes are, well, custom made. As mentioned before, when you buy shoes straight off the shelf they are made on a manufacturing line and each size is meant to be a one-size fits all, which is not ever really the case for the majority of people. As with each individual body type, the same can be said for our feet. Everybody is different and no two people are the same. When you buy a pair of custom shoes, they are made one at a time and specifically just for you!

When you go through the process of creating a pair of custom shoes at COMUNITYmade, extremely detailed measurements of your feet are taken, ensuring the most snug and proper fit is obtained. When you have a proper fitting shoe that was handmade and custom designed just for you, you can rest assured that you will make it through the day in ease as your feet are properly supported throughout the day, even without the use of any inserts or insoles.

Economic Benefits

What some people may not consider when they buy a pair of shoes off the shelf at a cheap price, they most often come from impoverished areas where people are forced to work for low wages in dangerous environments. Many are familiar with the old factory life of America that often took place in the late 1800’s where people were trapped in burning buildings, paid 10 cents an hour, or forced to acquire illnesses from dangerous conditions at work just to make a living, however, many of that still goes on today, just not in our country.

When shoe production is outsourced to other places, where about 99% of shoes in America are imported, they are most often being made in places like these. When you buy custom made shoes at companies like ComunityMade, you are helping to support a local American economy where you can stand tall knowing that you are helping to support local artisans and their families, not some foreign manufacturer making a living off the back of others.

Durability

If you are looking for a quality pair of shoes that will help keep you comfortable while also standing on your feet all day, then surely you are also needing a shoe that can outlast the ordinary day. We have already discussed how low quality materials cause shoes to break down quicker, but imagine what would happen if you were also standing on your feet all day? It sounds like you would be needing to replace that supermarket pair of shoes at least a few times a year but when you buy custom made shoes you will no longer have that problem! The increased quality and craftsmanship of the entire shoe will be sure to last for years to come!

These are just a few of the reasons why custom made shoes are the obvious winner when it comes to the best shoes for standing on your feet all day. If you are interested in going through the custom made process, then our highly trained staff of artisans with years in the hand made shoe industry are more than happy to help you! You can book an appointment online or visit our showroom (by appointment only) in downtown LA. We are working hard to remain covid free so please wear your masks if you visit us in person and we hope you stay safe!

Find Your Perfect Size

We want to help make sure that your new shoes have the best fit possible.

We have created a separate fit for men and women to provide the ultimate foot hugging comfort.  Our sockliner and upper materials will naturally mold to your foot and stretch out after a short period of time, so do allow for this when trying our shoes on initially.

In general, our shoes are running closer to an everyday shoe fit vs. an athletic shoe fit and can be worn with or without socks - but the socks have to be eye catching for best results.

Any variances from this chart will be noted on each individual product page.
